As always, my neighbour is in trouble ( so what's new?) , this time with his OE6.

I think the answer is in the tools/options/security settings but, as mine are set to (a) Do not Allow (b) Block images and, when images are received a bar comes up stating that OE has blocked them - a click on that bar allows them to be viewed etc - on his, clicking has no effect (the bar does not disappear and the attachment remains locked). I won't see him again until this evening and, as he expecting an attachment from an LTA contact concerning a tournament next weekend he is anxious to be able to see it.

You are correct Les. The setting is in Security, "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" take the tick out and this then should allow the attachment to be opened.

Thanks for the confirmation. I'll check his settings when I am summoned to his presence this evening <G>
