Outlook error 0x800cc0e cannot connect to server

  lester1 01:04 05 Sep 06

When I try to connect to my e-mail account I get the above error message. I have been through the account help files and set up Outlook as described.

I can access my account via a link in IE but the POP function in Outlook won't work.

You could try using Outlook Express to test it.

When in OE ->Tools->Accounts->Add->choose Mail.
You will need username and password plus
POP3 AND SMTP details.
eg POP3.Tiscali.co.uk and SMTP.Tiscali.co.uk

When set up you can then change over to Outlook.

If you are using a spam filter you may want to temp.
close it down until you are up and running.

Just the spam filter on the providers site will that make a difference?
