Outlook email problems

Hi, I have just set up microsoft outlook for two email accounts, my first one and shows up in the personal folders section is my googlemail account, my second one is a popimap account from my university. Now they send and receive ok when I click the button, but if I go and create a new email message and then try and send, it will say 80% and linger for about a minute before it says there's an error and it can't send, or it has timed out, I can send fine using outlook express. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

If you have accounts set-up OK in Outlook Express you can delete the defective account settings in Outlook and import the working ones.
File - Import and Export then follow the options.

No didn't work, the two accounts have exactly the same settings.

Try increasing the timeout setting:

On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.

Select View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click Next.

Click the e-mail account you want to change, and then click Change.

Click More Settings, and then click the Advanced tab.
Under Server Timeouts, move the slider toward Long.

Click OK, click Next, and then click Finish.
