Outlook email font colour

Using Outlook 2002 –
When I click on new to compile a new email and type my email message the text is yellow. I have to click on the font colour to change setting to automatic before it types up in black. I have gone into “tools>options” but cannot find anywhere to alter the settings there.

If I click on “format>font” the font format shows “automatic as it should.

Further, although I seem to have the spacing set on single, I still get double spacing when I press return.

Your help would be appreciated.

I've managed to produce the same result. To do so I had to go Tools>Options>Mail Format>HTML>Use Word to Edit>Sationary(None)>Fonts>Message and select YELLOW. Changing Yellow to Auto then produces BLACK text. Personally I chose Plain Text rather than HTML. Might help?

Thanks dms05 - I had tried that all before but I did try it again and this time it seemed to work.

I must have done something wrong before.

Thanks again for your help.
