Hi,

i'm trying to set up my microsoft OUTLOOK to send and recieve my mail from a
'click here' mailbox but it doesn't seem to work.
I know all the info I have is correct because it works fine from OUTLOOK EXPRESS.

The incoming server is: pop.1and1.co.uk
The outgoing sever is: auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk

Does anybody have any ideas why OUTLOOK doesn't like this info and/or how to fix this problem.

Would really appreciate some help - cheers

I think the outgoing server should be " smtp.1and1.co.uk" miss out the auth and see if that works.

hi,

i'm afraid that didn't work

It is

auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk

When you say it doesn't work what error messages do you get?

  three_stacks 18:37 29 Nov 05

'The specified pop3 server does not appear to be valid, do you want to use it anyway?'

'The specified SMPT server does not appear to be valid, do u want to use it anyway?'

The thing is I know they are valid because they work fine in the OUTLOOK EXPRESS

And when I try to send the mail:

No transport provider was available for delivery to this recipient

Well i use a 1and1 account in OE and can vouch that the settings are

The incoming server is: pop.1and1.co.uk
The outgoing sever is: auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk

I'll try to set it up in Outlook 2002....

Just transfered the settings and hit Test Account Settings...

Passed all tests...

When does it give you the error messages?

Maybe you could tell me how to transfer the settings from outlook express into outlook?

If your outgoing server needs authentication you need to go to "more settings" button and on the outgoing server tab select the first and second radio buttons. Post back with the error message you receive when you test the account settings.

"Maybe you could tell me how to transfer the settings from outlook express into outlook?"

Just copied them from Outlook Express to Outlook - no tricks.
