Outlook 2003 Trying To Send 'Ghost' Emails

A friend has Outlook 2003 with Windows XP and BtInternet Broadband Account.

Outlook 2003 is trying to send 3 emails despite there being none in the Outbox to send. Error Codes have been 0x80048002 and 0x800CCCOF. This appears to have occurred since AVG 8 was installed or this may just be coincidence.

I have tried System Restore to no avail.

Any ideas?

the error messages point to firewall configuration or maybe the email scanner from AVG, reconfig firewall to allow outlook, sometimes just disable/re enable AVG has been known to solve the problem

Mat Alan - Agree but have tried those solutions to no avail!

Disable AVG email integration entirely.
