HI all,
I'm trying to install office 2003 after having office 2007 beta installed but i am getting this error everytime i try to run outlook 2003 "Cannot start microsoft office outlook. MAPI32>DLL is corrupt or the wrong version. this could have been caused by installing other messaging software. please reinstall outlook",
I have reinstalled done a repair and i have also renamed this offending dll file but nothing seems to work please please help.

can't be bothered with uninstalling 2003 then reinstalling 2007 and unsinstalling 2007 then reinstall 2003

Go to the SYSTEM folder and check all MAPI32 for bak and old file that have been changed. There will be one Mapi32.dll but it as been changed by another program. You can change it back by renaming files

thanks steven it was msmapi32.old to be typed and it just started installing straightaway eventhough i had reinstalled 2003 about a month ago and never bothered with outlook since then till today i read your post...must thank vog to remind me to sort it out...thanks to you both..its done

vog fixmapi didnot work but steven's link to technet forum where there was suggestion to use msmapi32.old instead of all the rest( i had 4 from w98 onwards) and the last was msmapi32.dll which had to be renamed msmapi32.old
