Outlook 2003 inbox

I am running XP sp3 with office 2003. Recently when I download my mail to Outlook, it tells me I have x number of mail items downloading (Broadband) but they don't appear in my inbox, instead I have found them in my Unread mail box. They were always sent direct to my inbox. Does anyone know why this has changed and how I can return it back to normal. Many Thanks.

All unread mail will appear in your Inbox unless you have any mail filters set - this includes junk mail filters.....mail that shows in your unread mail folder possibly includes mail diverted by rules you set up.

Never ignore the obvious - check you have set the the sort order of your mail correctly - if you sort by date with the date at the top any new mail will show.
