Outlook 2000 deleting read messages from inbox

  sharonbailey 22:11 22 May 03

As soon as I read a message, either full screen or not from my in box (Outlook 2000) and then close the message to return to the inbox, it has autmatically been deleted! I haven't deleted it/them and they are not, having disappeared, been placed in the deleted items box?
Any suggestions please.

You have the filter on in Outlook that only shows unread emails. They are still in the inbox, which is why you cannot see them in the deleted items folder.

Do a search in Outlook help for 'filters' or 'only show unread messages' and you should find how to switch it off.

Hope this helps.

Try checking under view and then current view from the menu bar ... one of the selections there is unread only ... selecting one of the others may solve your problem
