Out of Date Cartridges

  SABRE 10:13 01 Jul 03

Found some cartridges (HPC1823G)at back of cupboard with use by date of July 2001. Tried to use but they do not print colour correctly. Anyone know a way of reviving as we have four of them at about £25 each?

Try soaking the print heads in Isopropyl Alcohol. Also Take the cartridges outside of the house and away from the house walls and clothes on the line and with a cartridge in your hand print head outermost whirl your arm windmill fashion. I know it sounds nuts but it can help to force the ink through. Just look out for Jeremy beadle!

Agent Smith's idea can work but if you put them, one at a time, in a plastice bag to do your whirling you will have no danger of throwing ink all over the place ..... and you can whirl faster too :o)

plastice = plastic

Nice one Mango. Does it have to be a Tesco bag or will Safeways work just as well. Lol

Put them into a plastic bag then into the washing machine on a spin cycle. They'll whirl even faster (some even have variable spin speeds) and if any ink gets out it doesn't matter as you can just put the machine on to wash!!

(sorry that was meant to be a joke by the way)

Thanks for the tips. Feel as though I've got to be the whirling dervish. Will have a go. Not too sure about the washing machine though.

How about a Tupperware salad drier

You still there? Can you stand upright?

Sincerely hope our tip did not bring on an attack of The Dizzies.
