Hi, I have been trying to install oscommerce for the last week. I have followed all the tutorials to a T but I just can't acess the instalation files on the server. I get an error page IIS password or something (see link). I now the files are there, I just can't access them.

I have set the permissions of all the files to 777.

Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

Thanks, David.

I found that the official OsC installation documentation wasn't very helpful. There is far better documentation on the OsCDox site (but don't ever mention it on the the official OsC site!!). click here

Thanks for the link, some useful stuff on there.

It seams that the problem I am having is that the hosting I have is on a windows server and therefore doesn't support CHMOD. This means I can't changed the file permissions myself which is a bit of a pain. Anyway, I contacted the support team and they're sorting it (hopefully).

Thanks again.

You can change file and folder permissions on Windows IIS web space - you should have access to a file browser in your control panel that allows you to run permissions, from which you can make the necessary chnages.
