Still no joy with livebox. Worse still I couldn't get on to the internet at all yesterday, even though my connection was connected. So this morning I phoned up Orange and spoke to a very helpful Richard, who eventually got me up and running. He has set me up as though I am dialling, I click on Orange Icon rewrite my password then click dial, can I get back to the normal way by clicking on speedtouch, anyone had this problem?

Does your Local area connection show connected at 100Mbs when wired or 54Mbs when wireless?

With the live box 100mbs, at the moment i am on speedtouch with 2.2 mpbs.

If LAN is connected but you cannot access web then either firewall or security settings in machine is blocking access.

Is this your own machine or one from "work"

Ihad the ms firewall of, and the security settings are at default or medium.

Assumming you have run the Livebox CD and end up with
"cannot connect to Livebox possible caues firewall is switched on"

Network settings - LAN - right click - properties - general tab - highlight Internet protocal (TCP/IP) click properties.

Tick boxes - obtain an IP address automatically
Obtain DNS server address automatically
the boxes should all be greyed out. Click OK

Retry to get a web Page by your livebox

I decided to have another go, this time not using the Nvidia ethernet connection and got up and running straightaway. Thanks for the help.
