Optical Vs Laser

I was in my local electrical outlet yesterday looking for a new mouse for my Dell (as they supplied me with a balled one!), and I came across a wired optical one for the handsome sum of £10, and a wired laser one for £5 more.

What more am I getting for the extra cash if I get the laser option, and is it worth it?

Hi, I have a Logitech cordless Laser mouse - works on any surface, no mouse-mat needed. Not too big, not too small, I find it very comfortable to use. A great thing is that when the battery gets a bit too low, a window will pop up giving you a warning - so you can change battery without messing-up anything you are working on. I have had other cordless
meeces that just froze when battery was too low -and a freeze can mean all sorts of things, so one does not immediately think - mouse battery!
