Opening windows explorer

If I right click on the start button and select windows explorer it always opens with the windows folder expanded. I assume it's an entry in the registry but does anyone know the trick of making it open with no folders expanded

Go into programs find the window explorer icon double left click, or single right and open

I'm aware of this route for opening windows explorer but I've got into the habit of using Rt Clk on the Start button and wondered if it could be re-programmed to open 'normally'
