opening pdf with IE7 leaves orphaned browser

I have acrobat reader set to NOT display downloaded PDFs in a browser window. Since IE7, when I click on a link to a pdf it opens a new browser window and then launches acrobat reader (separately), but then leaves the new browser window open (effectively orphaned).

IE6 used the same means, but clsoed the "temporary" browser window once acrobat reader was up.

Any suggestions as to how I prevent the orphaned window effect?

have been common after upgrading to IE7.

A reinstall of Acrobat Reader seems to be successfull in most instances.

Good luck,
