I use Firefox as a preference as it loads so much faster than IE, but when I click on a link to a pdf file I get nothing. Help please.

Have you looked in Tools>Options>Downloads and found under "File Types" all the files listed with an associated application to use to open them?

You may need to enable "Allow websites to Install Software" from FF's Tools>Options>Web Features.

I use both Adobe Reader and the free pdf reader from:

click here (very small download, very effective utility)

Yes, I did have Acrobat installed (v.7), but when I checked on the list of plug-ins, it was not there. I used the download suggested - many thanks - and it appeared on the list, and pdf files now open automatically.
