Opening My Documents from start bar causes.......

a windows explorer problem and it has to shut down. If I goto start ->my computer -> my documents it opens ok, but I don't want to have to do this everytime. Any ideas? I run windows xp.

Right click on the problem shortcut and go into properties then check the target. Make sure it is set to the destination of your My Documents folder i.e

C:\Documents and Settings\"Your Name"\My Documents

It opens the document folder then about 2-3secs later it tells me windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to shut down.

just for info, it was a corrupt file in the my documants folder that crashed windows explorer every time.
