I cannot open Microsoft works database file in ms office 2000 Access

Microsoft Office and Microsoft Works are not interchangeable. You need to save the Works Database as a dbase III or better still a bdase IV file which Microsoft Access can read.

Sorry, I meant dbase IV. I used to be dyslexic but I'm KO now.

Sorry, not that I know of. Try the solution that bremner has offered. I have just tried it myself and it seems to work. Remember your dbase file name must not be more than 8 characters or it won't work. Dbase files are in the 8.3 format.
