opening files

After reading an article extolling the virtues of "Opera" browser I thought I would give it a try.I didn't like it so uninstalled it using add/remove.I now have the problem that when I click on my email icons I get the response.
"WINDOWS CANNOT FIND OPERA .exe
This programme is needed for opening files of type URL.hyper text transfer protocol.
Type in executable file to be used instead."
There is no trace of opra on the system now.
I would be very grateful if anyone can explain how I get out of this situation.

Depending on your OS, you may have an option to "Set Program Access and Defaults". Click the Start button to see if it's there. If not, go to Add/Remove Programs and see if it's on the left hand side. If you find it, click it, and set Internet Explorer as your default web browser, and Outlook Express as your default email program (if previously that was your program). Click OK.

If you can't find it, post back.
