Opening Dell downloaded drivers files

  Newuser3605 15:53 04 Sep 10

I have downloaded the drivers for my audio and video to work but cannot open them.
Dell does not provide any information on how to open them and their helplines are closed.
Does anyone know what program I need and how to get it? Many thanks.

What type of file are they?

I think that they are .exe files.

It sounds like they'll install themselves, then. Double click on the .exe file and you should see a program begin that will tell you it's installing a driver.

i think all you need to do is to open Device Manager, click update driver on the individual device then 'install from a specific location'. Browse to the file and click next. Repeat for the second device. Should work.

Many thanks for taking the time to help.

I don't know what happened the first time I tried it, but Ian from Northampton got it right.
I feel a bit of a twat though.
Thanks again.
