open with winamp still in right click menu

i downloaded and installed winamp

i didnt like it so i unistalled it

but when i right clik on a music file the option to open with winamp is still there

i have tried to reinstall it and then unistall but it is still there how to i get rid of the menu listings

i run xp pro

One way to remove it is to go into the registry editor and remove all mentions of winamp from there.

Go to start, run and type regedit.

But be very careful - any mistake there could be costly.

Registry Key to remove right click context items:


Click the the + sign next to the ContextMenuHandlers key, to expand it.

Now you will see some of the programs that have added items to your right-click menu.
Simply delete the program keys you don't want.

Hmmm - then you'll need to use the search to find all WinAmp References and delete manually.
