open ports

I run XP Home with Service pack 2 installed. I have turned off the firewall as I use Norton 2004 for Antivirus and Firewall. I have the firewall settings set to medium and have all my updates for Norton and Windows.

When I run scans for a security check it says I am a risk as some ports are still open, for example 80, it returns a ping still plus a couple of other things. The very helpful suggestion is to install a firewall - Brilliant!!! So Norton is what then??!!

Anyone know how I close or stealth ports etc...??

I think that I have seen on previous threads on this subject that port 80 needs to be open. Try searching on "ports".
