Is there any way in which I can open a *.png file in powerpoint?

Many thanks, FruitBat. I have managed to open it with my free copy of GIMP. I have saved it as a TIFF file and tried to import it to Power Point, but it still doesn't work.

Have you any other ideas? It is a template for a book cover in lulu.com, which shows the document size, trim area and 'Live area'. I have designed the cover using Power Point and one of its themes, but want to check that I have exactly the right dimension amd really want to redesign it on a copy of the original template to make absolutey sure that it is the correct dimensions.
