Open a file with Quick Time instead of Win Media

I have recently indtalled a programme that requires Quick Time to operate it. When I try to open the programme Windows Media Player tries and fails to open the programme. How can I direct the computer to use Quick Time for this programme?

Can you right click on the file and 'open with' Quicktime?

When I right click on the file only the 'Open' option is shown

Try holding down the 'Ctrl' key to the left when you do it.

Thank you Halmer but that does not do the trick.

Go to properties at the bottom

Hold Shift key down, right click on file, select "open with", select choose programme, select quick time and ensure that you tick the box that says "always use the selected programme to open this type of file"

Press OK

Sorry but no joy. I shall have to try and resolve this later because I have to leave on other duties. Thanks for your help.
