What is visible in disk management?

Right click my computer, choose manage and then disk management.

Turn off the machine and check that the cables are properly connected - both power and SATA cables.

Is it seen in the BIOS?

It is a little complicated.

Enter the bios, intergrated peripharals, on chip serial ata settings. What are your settings for

1) on chip sata controller

2) pata ide mode

3)sata mode

  sittingduck 11:18 15 Aug 06

on chip sata settings

***on chip sata controler***

IDE bus master enabled
on-chip IDE-1 controller enabled

***on chip sata settings***

on chip sata controller combined mode
sata port speed setting disabled

pata IDE mode IDE-2

sata IDE mode SATA 1, SATA 3 IS IDE-1

I think you have your second Sata drive in the wrong slot Sata slot.

You are using Pata IDE mode 2. So that will see the SATA 1 and SATA 3 connecters.

Looking from the bottom you should have 4 Sata controller connecters.

top left, top right, bottom left and bottom right.

Sata 1 is top left. Connect the other hard drive to bottom right. This should enable both drives.

i have moved the connector to the other slots but to no avail
