Hi,

How do I only allow certain users to logon to a machine? Has it got something to do with Local Security Policy? The machine is running XP Pro

Cheers

When you set up user accounts in XP, as administrator, it is possible to set a password for each account. Only the person knowing that password, other than you as administrator, can then gain access to your PC, and then only for files allowed within that account.

You will also need to delete the guest account, and set a password for the administrator account, this is the account named administrator that is used during installation, many people don't set a password for this account.

And don't forget to enable folder privacy on each user's documents folder. Otherwise, other users will be able to see it and open it.
