Old Tosh Notebook problem

  MMC 18:05 31 Jan 03

I have been given a Tosh Satellite 100CS to repair. The first screen tells me "the BIOS is damaged, insert maintenance disk". I have had a quick look round the Tosh support area and not seen anything except a couple of BIOS update files. Anyone out there who can help? Thanks in advance.

Do you know the BIOS version / type?

Seems as if the best option is a bios upgrade / repair / flash.

click here for a link to a possible bios file.

You will need to register or enter the following:
user: drivers
password: all

Found the Bios file on a Tosh support site eventually!! After I flashed the Bios to Version 5.3 it then started re-booting every time it checked the memory. Funnily enough, the memory went from 4Mb to 8Mb after I removed ram card (Kingston memory). I am now into Win95. The things I do for friends!! Thanks again.
