hi,
can anyone help, would it be possible to add usb v2 to my pc which has usb v1, via a pci card.
what version of usb would i require to run external hard drive and usb mouse.
also how to i find what version of pci do i have/use

Win98SE does not support USB 2.0 - only USB 1.1. You can attach 2.0 equipment (it is backward compatible) but you wil not get the faster speed. For all the best advice (free and unbiased) on USB click here

Just installed a Belkin USB 2 PCI in a Win Me PC and you do get the USB 2 speeds after you install the drivers.

Win98SE just doesn't support USB 2 natively (i.e. with drivers from the hardware manufacturer)
