old pc to modern monitor. help!

  brezhnev 19:00 01 Oct 10

I've just dug out my old Windows 98 computer so i can start using an old music software programme again. trouble is it has a 25-pin port for the monitor cable. the only monitors i've got are flat-screen 15 pin and I must have thrown out the old cable.

Anyone any idea how i can hook it up?

I would suspect the 25-pin port is a Serial (COM) port and not the video port. If the port has pins (male) it is a serial port. The monitor port should be 15-pin female in three rows of 5 and is normally coloured blue.
