from old to new computer

I'm about to buy a new computer, moving from Windows XP to Windows 7 at the same time. My only worry is transferring all files, programmes and data from old computer to new. I know there is software to help with this. Is it any good? I've heard of Zinstall - would this be useful. Or is there a simple way of switching without this kind of help?

As you will see from Sparkly's link you can transfer your files, data and settings to your new computer - but your programs will need to be re-installed from scratch. If you have kept copies of the executable program files then you can transfer them and reinstall on the new machine.

My cousin used Zinstall couple months ago, seemed pretty decent. Transferred all programs as well, so should suit you.
