Hi,
I am currently using an old laptop, which only has USB1, and a small hard drive. I have been thinking about buying an external hard drive to increase storeage, but they all seam to be USB2. I know that USB2 is backwards compatable, but is it practical ?
Any help appreciated.

Yes it will work but slowly 12mbs.

It will be slow transferring data...

Do you have a PCMCIA slot? If so get a USB 2 adaptor as well as the card.

Just check in-case it has a Firewire slot somewhere
