I have just taken the 13gig Hard drive out of an old Evesham Celron desktop PC (first time I have ventured inside a PC).The rest of the computer is going to be scraped.

1st
Is the hard drive worth saving as it is only 13gig?.

If you think yes to the above question.
I believe you can get some sort of enclosure to hold the HD so that it can be used as a external HD.

3rd
shall I just smash it to bits?.

Use as a external HD to store music, pictures etc which will save space on you main drive

This one is a bit more versatile.

It will accept 2.5, 3.5 IDE and SATA including Optical drives.

Third one down £22.95

I have two. One on my computer and the other on my partners computer.

I would put the 13gig in as master with only your O/S on it and use the other internal as storage/files and for backup.
if you need to format and recover it will take no time at all...
