old hard drive

I have a old hard drive with windows 98se installed on it. I bought an enclosure so I could get some info off it that I needed. Now I am wondering if it is possible to put games on this hard drive. My kids have several SIMS games which take up huge amounts of space on the regular computer so I was wondering if I could download these games to this old hard drive and then play them off that? If so, do I have to erase the entire drive or leave as is. Any info would be great. Thanks

It would be better to reformat the drive - especially if you are now using XP.

Reformatting will give more space on your new drive as well removing any possible interference from old software that may be on it.

yea, I tried this with an old 8gig with 98se on it and it worked but we kept getting error messages, so I think it would be better if you just reformatted the drive. If this is quite an old drive presumebly it is quite small so it shouldn't take too long.
