Old Game Wont Start - Take a look...

Hi there. I just bought a really old game F-18 Super Hornet. It starts up, plays all the movies and the build up to the game but when i click TAKE OFF the game exits and then goes back to the desktop. I am thinking that this game is too old for my super AMD Athlon 64 3000 Processor, 1GB Ram, Direct 9.0b... Do you think that i should install the Direct.X media that came with the game ???

Thanks for looking.

No....DX9 should be backwards compatible anyway....better to try compatibility mode...right click on the shortcut for the game....select properties...there should be a compatibility tab...tick run in compatibility mode and chose the OS.Not guaranteed to work
