I have this strange problem with my setting for the outlook to receive emails.
I have an account with ntlworld, the setting for incoming mail server (POP3) is & outgoing mail server (SMTP) is

These are the correct setting as per their website, with my username and password correct. I close the email account menu.

When I return open outlook has an error saying can’t connect to server, so back into email account to see the pop.ntlworld to be replaced by localhost!!!!!

And usename/ together??

I again change it back, for it to be change back again to these setting automatically. i have been using outlook for the last 14 months with no problem, this has started recently.

Any one got clues, I would appreciate it

The only thing I can think of is to open Outlook, Help/Detect and Repair. And/Or try a System Restore if you are using Windows ME or XP.
