Office XP Complete Uninstall - How?

I need to completely reinstall Office XP since I think it is slightly corrupt. However, when I use ADD/REMOVE programs in the control panel, it obviously leaves traces behind, since when I install Office again, all my inbox and contacts reappear. How can I completely remove Office before I can do a clean install.
Thanks

Andy

I could be wrong here but if you put the Office XP disc in it has an uninstall facility in it

Office will always leave traces behind in the registry unless you use a clean up facility from Microsoft. It is these bits in the registry such as "Normal.dot files" and other templates that reinstate your data on doing a clean install.

If you want to remove all traces to start fresh, take a look at this Microsoft help article. click here

Use the Detect & Repair in Help for each program.

You need the disk/s to hand.

If that doesn't work post again.

once you have uninstalled office (via the cd as suggested earlier)

look for a file on the cd called

OFFCLN10(officexp 2003) or OFFCLN9 (office2000)

double click the file and it will remove stubborn traces of office

then you can revert to an earlier version if required
