Office 2000 Address book failure

Recently got new PC running Windows 7. Installed Office 2000 and imported Contacts from old PC.
When I , for example, want to produce an envelope I used to be able to click on address book and insert the contact details. Now I get a message
"Address book failure"
The subsystem is not installed" Check your mail set up.You must have Extended MAPI version1.0 or higher to use this feature".
Can this be fixed ??
Thanks

Are you using Outlook for your contacts?
I don't have Windows 7 but as far as I am aware it doesn't have address book. You have to use Outlook or Windows Live.

But when I recently set up my dad's new (Win 7) PC I checked into whether Office 2000 would work on it...

It's not officially supported, but most of it works OK, except, as I recall, the Outlook address book! That wasn't an issue for me/dad,as he doesn't use Outlook.

Sorry I can't help with any more detail, but searching Google or similar should reveal the details of the issue.

Good luck,

Regards,

Simsy
