oem reactvation or new disc

can anyone help i am getting a new motherboard and processor for my older pc which which is only a 1300 duron the problem is i built the pc in college and it has a oem disc do i need to buy a new disc thanks for your help Chippy

I'm afraid you do need to buy a new disk. As far as I know the OEM copy dies with the motherboard and therefore you couldn't transfer it.
But if anyone else knows better......

hi Totally-braindead thanks for your reply i thought that would be the answer i have the oem for the older pc and the upgrade for my other pc was hoping the oem might work as it means putting the motherboard in a new case and selling the older 1300 pc complete with the oem to try and recupe some money for the new one thanks again Chippy
