Old Tiny computer with no product key on it.H/D dead.If I put a new H/D in and load an OEM XP Home, will I have problem activating with Microsoft,or do I need to buy full copy.I have searched the forum, and I am confused about this.

There doe's seem to be some confusion on this issue, regarding OEM. You do not say whether the XP Home is new or previously used on another machine. If new, then there should be no problems, if previously used, then ??.

Thank' for reply.Yes I want to buy a retail copy, but having looked at several answers on the forum I am confused about this.It would seem to be a grey area.

If you are buying a new OEM copy of windows and installing it on a new hard drive, you should have no problems activating the copy of windows with microsoft.
