OE6 woes with e-mails

I use pipex as isp and when I try to get my e-mails I get the following error
message,

The server responded with an error. Account: 'pop.dsl.pipex.com', Server:
'pop.dsl.pipex.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Cannot connect to
POP server 62.241.163.102 (62.241.163.102:110), connect error 10061', Port:
110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90
Spoke to pipex and did various checks, settings, new account, but no joy. I was advised to backup
all e-mails and delete and reinstall oe6. This I have done but still get the
same error appearing.
Any advice.

As I said earlier done all as you suggest with the only difference being that substitute dial with dsl.
this has not helped.

This didn't help as the error message is a bit different to mine. Also don't have the clear text option as mentioned.

Are you putting the correct user name in? it should NOT be your e-mail address.

Can you access your e-mails via a web browser?
