OE 6 - Read in plain text only

  Oldcodger 18:37 04 Mar 04

Under 'tools' - 'options' - 'read'tab I have an option box to tick to "Read in plain text only".
I run Win. XP Pro.
My friend, who runs Win. 98 does not have this box.
I've tried reinstalling but to no effect.
I'm beginning to believe that it has something to do with running W98.
Can anyone throw any light on this?

Does your friends Win98 run OE6 or OE5
That could be the difference

You need OE6 and the latest update to read in plain text.

Thanks all. You've confirmed what I thought.
However, OE6 IS in - via a freebie CD from PCAdv.
I tried uninstalling OE and reinstalling but although the 'blue' OE6 splash screen comes up, it still behave like OE5.
I also tried a 'repair' run of IE6.
Any more ideas?

OK guys - solved it!
It needed the IE 6 Service Pack 1 contained in the CD with the XP Service pack 1.
Hope this might help someone else.
