Most of the time when I switch my PC on, it does not work. It gives beep code 1 long and 3 short. After a few times switching on and off it works sometimes.

Specs:

Vista Home Premium
Asus MB
2GB Ram
Athlon 5200+ Dual Core
nVidia 7300le

Thanks :)

Could it be your actual "on" switch being faulty? Try pressing it firmer than you usually do.

I don't think so, it switches on but then beeps, and then nothing appears on the screen apart from "no signal input"

Had an old Packard Bell computer that had the same problem with the switch. Gave it away to a good charity and they fixed it lol.
May be your graphics card needs reseating?

put beep codes into google to find out what they mean.

With an AMI bios, it means
Conventional/extended memory failure

"1 long + 3 short = No video card or bad video RAM"

which could tie in with your "no signal" message at the monitor
