Nvidia Graphics drivers performance let down

Hi all

I have used 44.03 g.card drivers with Nforce v2.45 drivers and get a very good 3dMark2001 score with my standard setup, even though i am only using a ti4200 64 mb MSi g.card.

I decided to uninstall the nvidia graphics card drivers (the correct way etc) and then install the new 45.23 drivers and i was disappointed to lose just under 500 3dmarks.

I have gone back to my original drivers above and am back at 12000 3dmarks again.

Is it because these latest drivers are for the FX series of g.cards or is it something else?

I was wondering if anybody else had found similar problems or have a driver version that is better than the 44.03's.

I read that nvidia had used some driver trickery to get better scores, they may have stopped doing it now.

The latest drivers are optimized for the Geforce FX line of cards, As they probasbly all will be from now on, I had the same problem after the 44.03's performance decreases.

for dagbladet, i use 3dmark2001se but the version that is compatible with directX 9. I also use Prime 95, which is probably the best program to see if your computer is stable under a constant load. Especially if you are into overclocking.
