NVidia Graphics Cards

I have the Gigabyte GT220 1gb NVIDIA card installed using Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium OS.

I have 2 spare PCI_Express x8 + x4 slots spare on my motherboard (GA-p55A-UD5) and two NVDIA XFX 8600GT 512mb cards.

Could I connect these two cards in and would I have 2GB graphics memory ?

If yes, the motherboard would then automatically run all of these at x8 speed, would it still be beneficial?

no reason why you cannot your MOBO supports SLI you will need to configure them to run in this format...
