Number of characters when naming a Memory Stick

I have a USB memory stick and wish to name it using more than the 11 characters it seems to let me use.

Is there any way round this?

I'm using XP Professional.

i dont think you can.

That's odd because I can name my Hard Disk with more than 11 characters (I'm using about 22 characters for my Hard Drive).

A USB memory stick is not exactly the same as a hard drive and I think it might be an inbuilt limitation.

Yes it's the same with other memory sticks.

According to the link rossgolf gave you there is a way round it - if the instructions work ok.
