In the System Variables section, click on New...

The variable to be added is called NUMLOCK, and the value is ON

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Keyboard
Open InitialKeyboardIndicators
Change the value to one of the following numbers
0 - All Keys off
1 - Caps Lock on
2 - Num Lock on
4 - Scroll Lock on
For multiple keys, add their values:
3 - Caps Lock and Num Lock on
5 - Caps Lock and Scroll Lock on
6 - Num Lock and Scroll Lock on
7 - Caps Lock, Num Lock, and Scroll Lock on
Log off and back on again

I think some bios' have this capability of enabling num lock.

There is usually a setting in the BIOS to have num lock on at startup.

In the BIOS settings press Del as computer starts

  wolfie3000 21:35 20 Oct 06

woudlnt it be easier to just press the key when your pc starts?

  woodchip 21:50 20 Oct 06

That will not make it work. unless he waits till he is fully into windows. ME I turn it of in BIOS. But I do not use Spreadsheets etc
