When trying a tidy up of my files and folders I found the above in my documents and settings. Trouble ids the file is 3kb. Any ideas how this can be reduced or it is safe to delete if I log in as another user?

I use XP.

DON'T - part of your Registry!!!

Thanks Vog,

Why is the file so large?

3 KB isn't very big. You could try a registry compactor click here

Sorry Vog, got my KB and MB mixed up. My folder was showing 4MB in size but couldn't see it. Displayed hidden folders and voila! Got it and deleted it. Thanks for your help.

You say you have deleted the NTUser.dat file - that is surprising as if you try to do so you should get a message saying 'unable to delete file in use'

As VOG says you do not want to delete it as it is a vital system file.
