ntldr

My daughter passed over a hard drive which had Win 2000 installed and suddenly stopped operating. When I try to reinstall the o/s I get the message “NTLDR is missing.” I don’t have a boot disk. We’d be quite happy to format the drive and install whatever - Win 98SE as I have both o/s & boot disk. There is an explanation of how this comes about (clone) - but I know nothing of the history of the drive.
Any ideas?
