ntl on a network

hi my son has a laptop we want to share my ntl broadband. ntl sell a wireless home network starter pack do i have to use this or can i use any network starter pack with ntl as thay are charging £100 i have seen cheeper ones thanks

I think you have answered your own question.No you do not have to use NTL and yes you can use a cheaper one.You do not need an adsl router/modem with cable BB but you do need the other parts and you can use NTL's set up walkthrough to set it up.or of couse the Networking Forum on here for troubleshooting.

I have ntl with linksys router,novatech PCI card on one desk top,direct wired on the other desk top and the built in wireless that I am using at the moment. Does that answer your question.
