NTL dial-up CD script error detected

  windy miller 09:37 24 Oct 03

When attempting to install ntl's cd for ISP dial-up Norton displayed a warning about a dodgy script being detected. The only way of completing the install was to remove Norton and re-install it after I connected to the internet. However, my PC is crashing repeatedly when downloading the latest virus definitions and my monitor pixel resolutions are looking slightly fuzzy?

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I'm running WinXP home edition.
